I've decided to do my fifth 3-Day Novel based on an actual campaign run by my organization, The Philadelphia Unemployment Project, before my time. It's the story of how the Sheriff came to us to help bring down foreclosures in the city, only for us to realize that his high sheriff's sales fees were a major part of the problem. The story will focus on him as he watches the people turn on him and he goes from good guy to bad guy and how he deals with it. So today at the office I copied some of the relevant papers from the campaign. I needed to bone up on it anyway, as it isn't really over. I'm sort of excited about the fact that I'm going to put in some preparation based on real facts to write a story. It's sort of a first for me. And to do a little research ahead of time to get ready. Breaking new creative ground: that's what we do here - every day - at BradyDale Central High School.
