2006-07-30 - 1:09 a.m.
This afternoon I went to the Last Drop Coffee Shop and sat down to work on my novel. I've been worrying about it for a while. I didn't really know how it would end and felt like I had a long, tedious way to go.
Today, though, I just saw an ending. It felt sort of like a shortcut, but - honestly - I like it. It fits my way. I feel good about it.
I didn't quite get there today, but I honestly think I'll be done tomorrow. I wrote about 20 pages by hand today, and I know all the stuff I need to do.
There's still tons of work to do (revision - hell, about 7 chapters aren't even typed into the computer yet), but by the end of this weekend it may be fair to say that my first draft of the novel I started at the beginning of 2002 is done!
