Last night I got a long awaited phone call. My friend Andrea called me after completely dropping out of my life without explanation since August (at least).
She was a phone friend. 80% of our relationship has occurred long distance. We dish like crazy about clothes and romance. It's great.
After a lifetime of making friendships with pretty girls needlessly complicated, Andrea was a great case of someone who showed I'd grown out of some of those old habits. We had the most normal friendship I've had in a long, long time.
Then she disappeared!
I couldn't figure out why, and my guilty conscience kept nagging me that maybe I'd done something. I tried to call her several times and email, but I didn't hear back. So I just sat back and waited.
Apparently she's been dating someone and they're one of those "always together" couples and so she just isn't able to break away to make a phone call. Fair enough. No problem.
I was very glad to finally hear from her once more. Also very glad that I have nothing to feel guilty about. Whew!
