Today I went to type up some of my novel. I had written out a chapter by hand so I wanted to get it typed up on my computer. When I opened up the file that contains my novel, it wasn't there.
That didn't feel good.
Fortunately, I back it up on a thumb drive, and I had it there. Thinking back, I don't think I'd made any changes to it since I did this last save. But I can't know for sure!!!
In fact, I bet the last time I went to make a copy of the file onto my thumbdrive my computer thought I actually wanted to move it on there.
Wow. Anyway, the point is... not happy feelings. Not happy at all.
We're cool, though.
I still haven't done a word count for 2005 (maybe because I'm worried it will suck), but I did write 9 chapters of the novel. That's pretty solid.
