My office is a 3 dimensional collage of the work of the Philadelphia Unemployment Project. Since we won our big campaign this weekend and passed legislation raising the Minimum Wage, I decided to make today, since it was already a bit of an off day, my office reclamation day. The office I am in has been sort ofthe office of whomever for years. I have files in here from 1985. There were old notebooks with notes from 2002.
I threw the overwhelming majority of it out today. Maybe some historian would have found it interesting, but I wasn't about to go through a bunch of old job placement notes, I'll tell you that.
In fact, there was evidence in here of almost everything PUP has been involved with in the last 10 years. I saved some of it, but we've got most everything saved in one place or another around this place.
The plan was to really make the office my own today. I rearranged a lot of the furniture, a lot like I did with my home office this weekend. I also meant to put up some posters I have. They say that your workplace satisfaction is higher if you make your space your own.
But, of course, I forgot the posters at home. Typical.
The director let us cut out at 1PM today, anyway. I haven't left yet, but I will soon, so I wouldn't have finished the job regardless.
